Confidence is key

"if you don't stand for something, then you will fall for anything."
Think of something you value in your life. Think of a rule you follow. Would you die for this rule? Would you stand up for this rule in a crowd full of people? What if everyone thought you were dumb for believing in it? Would you still follow it?
If your answer is yes to all of these questions, then yay! You have confidence!
If no, then you don't. Sorry.
I know right now, in high school, it's tough to be who you want to be.its hard to voice an opinion. I know, I still struggle with it everyday. But we have to ignore the people who bring us down. We have to stick up for what we believe is right.
Last year I had no rules. I can say honestly say that I didn't have much of an opinion either. I would have done anything just to be apart of the "in crowd." just to be accepted to the "popular group." now when I look back, I feel sad. Im upset that I didn't see the big picture. When you graduate from high school, chances are you won't see your high school classmates everyday. You won't live by their rules, or dress how they dress. You will simply be, you. Once I realized that, I changed. I became public about my relationship with God. I dressed how I wanted to, I talked to who I wanted to. I set up rules for myself to follow. Now I can say I am happy with who I am. I am proud to be different. I have achieved confidence.
Confidence is key.
Confidence will give you edge to stand up in front of a crowd of people and voice your own opinion. Confidence will let you wear pink lipstick when everyone is obviously wearing red. Confidence will be the deciding factor of why you said no to that sip of alcohol, or why you didn't go out on Friday night.
I know, I know, I have had my fair share of wrong doings, but that is in my past. I haved moved on from them. I have learned. I changed.
It's never too late to change. <3

  1. I definitely agree! If you have confidence in your own values and beliefs then you can stand up for yourself. You have the power to say no. Great blog girl! (:
