You are more.

Two great friends of mine had me look up the song that inspired this blog. "your are more" by tenth avenue north, the lyrics are seriously powerful and it got me to thinking, God judges you not on who you are, but instead on what you do. Haven't you ever heard that actions speak louder than words?
As I was listening to this song for about he 100th time, I thought of all the things I have done in the past year, I was mixed in the wrong crowd for a long time, I got into bad habits, and I eventually got caught. My parents still don't see me the same way, and everyday I have to provide myself to them. For a while I hated myself for my mistakes, I knew I sinned, and I disappointed everyone around me. But I am more.
"you are more than the choices that you've made"
There is not a day that goes by when I dont regret the bad things that I have done in the past, but I am more.
"You are more than the sum of your mistakes
You are more than the problems you create"
This year I kind of put myself into my own little "rehab". I stopped hanging around the negativity, I owned up to all of my mistakes, and I asked God for forgiveness. I have changed a lot since then.
"you've been remade."
I believe in second chances, I believe the Lord has given me a chance to prove to him and anyone else around me that I have changed.
From now on I dont want to be judged on the bad things that I did, but instead for the good that I am doing now.
I am more. <3

  2. This is such a good song for everyone to relate to, we ARE MORE than our past and it's mistakes. I believe that God gives us these trials, to see what we make of them. When we are broken that is the best way for us to turn our lives around and make a change. Way to have such a positive outlook Brooke, so proud of you!
